Time Passes

She sits lounging peacefully in her chair,
Lost in the memories of her little boy,
When he came home so small, so little hair,
She smiles with the thought of his first toy.
\Once so small, now past her shoulder,
The years have gone by so quick,
Now so big he feels he could move a boulder,
Still sometimes she feels he needs a good kick.
\As time passes fears turn to tears,
As experience she feared he has come to know,
Down her face slides a single tear from her continuing fears,
For her concern continues and her love will always grow.
\Always she fought to teach him right from wrong,
To provide the love and care that were his needs,
His time to move on would come before long,
To learn, to grow, to continue sowing his seeds.
